Sanna Nielsen (message from French Wikipedia)[edit source]

Hi I have created an article about Sanna Nielsen at the Hawaiian Wikipedia. I can talk Hawaiian but I am not great at grammar yet. Could you help me by translating the article. Or perhaps add a little bit more information. Would be very appreciated. Thanks.--BabbaQ (discuter) April 30, 2014 – 18:41 (CEST)

Hi BabbaQ, I'm sorry but I don't know Hawaiian. I am at the Hawaiian Wikipedia in order to patrol changes and to do admin tasks. Sorry. Mathieudu68 (kūkākūkā) 09:28, 1 Mei 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your friendly note at my talk page :) Yes, what I do not understand is why no person with knowledge of the Hawaiian language would not take an interest in this Wikipedia and create more new articles. If I had known proper Hawaiian I would have created a lot of new articles. Cheers :)--BabbaQ (talk) 16:53, 1 Mei 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@BabbaQ Of course, but there are only 1 000 native Hawaiian-language speakers, and this number drops below year by year :-( Wikipedia may be unknown in Hawaii, so nobody from Hawaii contribute to this encyclopedia. However, we hope to find some native Hawaiians who would help to improve Hawaiian Wikipedia! :-) It would be so sad that a beautiful language like Hawaiian would disappear... Hey Mathieudu (can I call you Mat?),

You are the current admin for the Hawaiian Wikipedia correct? What are some of the things that you currently do as an admin?

Also do you know how many active users there are on this wiki?

thanks,

Hello Kolonahe (yes, Mat is my surname),
Thanks for contributing on the Hawaiian Wikipedia.
Yes, I am the current admin for this Wikipedia (but there can be several admins one one Wikipedia, of course). The admin tools allow me to delete or protect pages, or to block users or IPs. You can see here what admin can exactly do (an admin on the Hawaiian Wikipedia having the same rights as on the English or other Wikipedias).
Yes, you can have a list of active users here, updated in real time.
Sorry for answering a bit late, but I was on holidays and had not my computer.
Sincerely, Mathieudu68 (kūkākūkā) 07:48, 20 'Aukake 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your temporary access is going to expire soon[edit source]

Hello, you were granted temporary adminship in this wiki which is going to expire in a few days. Just to let you know that if you want to continue as an administrator here, you need to request an extension on stewards' permission request page on Meta-Wiki. Usually you only have to make a local announcement on your local village pump or request for adminship page, and if there are no objections after no less than three days, your request will be fulfilled. Additionally, if you think the community is big enough to elect a permanent administrator, you can place a local request here for a permanent adminship, so stewards can grant you the permanent access. Please ask me or any other steward if you have any questions. Thank you! Shanmugamp7 (talk) 08:23, 23 Kekemapa 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Questions[edit source]

Aloha Mat, long time no talk. I have a question. Do you know if there a guideline for style? Like how to title articles, setting up format in those articles, spelling, etc. If not, I was thinking about drawing one up. There is too much chaos on this wiki with the influx of single sentence articles, and I think that it would help you out if you are still admin with cleaning up.
