{{{okina}} provides wrong Unicode character
[edit source]This template is hardly used, but it generates a quotation mark rather than a proper ʻokina, U+02BB. It's page-protected so I can't fix it. (Even in the MOS that tentatively recommended it back in 2008, the Hawaiian text used U+02BB instead!)
I did a SQL query, and 95% of titles with an ʻokina used the dedicated letter, and only 3% used the quotation mark generated by this template. (The other 2% used the keyboard apostrophe.) Of the article titles with a quotation mark and more than one ʻokina, half were mixed, with the other ʻokina being the dedicated character. So it looks like established consensus to use 02BB. - Did a JWB scan to change the quote mark to the dedicated letter. A few articles that reproduced religious texts used the quote mark throughout, but in most others that had a quote mark, the typesetting was mixed. I did not change the ASCII apostrophe to an ʻokina, because of the work involved in separating it from other uses of the apostrophe, but it looks like there are relatively few articles with that problem.
